Ang taba-taba ko na kasi! How many times have we heard that from friends trying to shed a few pounds in time for the beach or for a special ocassion?
Ang Taba Ko Kasi, a CineFilipino 2016 Film Festival entry, is a romantic comedy film for plus-sized women. The film centers on Olga (played by Cai Cortez) and her adventures in losing weight, because she can’t look at herself naked.
Losing weight is hard to do and anyone who’s in this situation understands how real the struggle is! See the different stages of trying to lose weight, as told by the film.
You take diet pills to burn away pounds.
But it didn’t work out, so you go the natural way
You’re being optimistic.
And even controlled your eating habits.
But when you assess yourself, you’re like:
Your family starts to tease you.
Also, friends keep asking the same question.
Blame it on your cheat days.
Then, you feel depressed. And start eating again.
When you realize one of the reasons for losing weight.
You make an effort for the nth time to achieve your #fitnessgoals.
Including enrolling in a swimming class where you are lucky to meet a cute instructor. #Motivated
But a time comes that you feel you won’t succeed.
That you might die because of hunger.
In the end, you accept who you are and be proud of yourself. Just like what Olga said, “I hate my fats, not myself.”
