This year has been a great year for movies. We have witnessed big, ground-breaking films even before the year passed halfway through. This month is no different. We have a month filled with movies from a wide spectrum of genres.
Are you excited? Because we sure are.

Nothing like a crime thriller movie to spike our blood to a boil! This movie may be less heard of among the other ones lined up this month, but this should be a surprising watch for all of us.

Finally! It’s fiiiinally coming to theaters!
This is probably one of those films that teased us the most. It’s been making us itch for it since the leak of camera phone videos during the movie’s filming. There has been a parade of photos and teasers and other forms of throat-wrenching materials for Suicide Squad.
What better way to make a superhero film with villains as your superheroes? Suicide Squad means hell. It promises a crazy ride with a premise of putting crazies on the spot to save the day. Have you gotten your tickets yet?
Synopsis from IMDB: A secret government agency recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency.
Release: August 10
When the trailer of this movie came out, people were freaking out because what could get better than a surfer Blake Lively fighting off a huge, deadly shark?
It’s true though, that the whole concept is exciting. It’s exciting to be seeing Blake Lively in a role completely different from her Gossip Girl image. Knowing that in this movie, she will be fighting for her life in the middle of the sea gives us this adrenaline rush that we are sure to get more of when the movie comes out.
News says that she almost broke her nose filming this movie. As they promised, this really could be “not just another day at the beach.”
Synopsis from IMDB: A mere 200 yards from shore, surfer Nancy is attacked by a great white shark, with her short journey to safety becoming the ultimate contest of will.
Release: August 10
Away from too much action, this movie is a breath of fresh air from all the action-packed films lined up for the month of August.
This movie is about family and coming back to the life left behind post-studies. It promises to be funny and heartwarming and partly crazy. It should be fun having something that you can just watch while sitting back and relaxing with a popcorn in hand.

This movie you can bring your whole family to—even the youngest in the family.
This is yet another adaptation of a Roald Dahl novel. Many of us grew up with these books, regardless of which generation. It’s always exciting to see novels come to life, especially those we merely imagined while reading growing up. Not to mention that this one is a Steven Spielberg x Disney movie so we expect nothing short of magical and wonderful.

This movie is based on a true story of 20-somethings getting a $300 million deal with the Pentagon. It has Miles Teller and Jonah Hill. It comes from the director of The Hangover Trilogy. If those aren’t enough reasons to watch this film, we don’t know how else to convince you to watch this movie.
Oh wait, it also has Bradley Cooper.

7Secret Life Of Pets

Raise your hands if you own a pet or 10! Or if you wish you had one or a million more! Or if you wish you had one but you don’t trust your caregiving instincts!
Have any of you wondered what our pets really talk about? Like, sure, we kind of try to understand their language with movement and reaction but what’s really going on in conversations between arfs and meows?
Well, this movie gives us that idea. What an adorable way for us to see what life is really like from the view of our pets. And a big plus is that this comes from the people behind the Despicable Me movies.
Synopsis from IMDB: A terrier named Max’s quite life is upended when hi owner takes in Duke, a stray who Max instantly dislikes.
