Our favorite little orphan is back on the Philippine stage! If you grew up singing along to “Tomorrow” and “It’s A Hard Knock Life,” the latest staging of Annie will give you so much nostalgia. Based on Harold Gray’s comic strip Little Orphan Annie, Annie is about an orphaned little girl who is determined to find her parents. Annie crosses paths with billionaire industrialist Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks, and she finds the family that she has been longing for through him. Child actresses Krystal Brimner and Isabeli Araneta Elizalde alternately play the role of Annie, while Michael de Mesa plays Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks.
You can watch Annie at the Newport Performing Arts Theater at Resorts World Manila every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until December 4, 2016. Tickets are available via TicketWorld.
2A Little Princess
A musical adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic, A Little Princess is the story of Sara Crewe, a young girl who was sent by her father to go to a boarding school. While there, she experiences different forms of hardship, but her determination, optimism, and imagination will help her pull through. This is one of the theater shows in Manila to bring the young ones to!
