Visit the Go! Volunteer Expo This Weekend

Have you ever thought about what it takes to become a modern-day hero?

This is exactly what iVolunteer Philippines, the country’s first volunteerism portal, aims to help you answer. Their team, composed of passionate individuals, invites everyone to the Go! Volunteer Expo on March 5–6, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City.

This two-day event is in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Glorietta, Works at Heart, and 2nd Avenue. It aims to bring together more than 25 organizations that support various causes and advocacies.

“We at iVolunteer Philippines dream of a better Philippines, and this is very much possible through the immense contributions of our volunteers,” said iVolunteer Cofounder and Current Executive Director Jan Bernard Tan. “Volunteerism should not only be alive in times of disaster and calamities. Instead, it should be part of our everyday consciousness.”

Tan shared that they envisioned the expo as a valuable platform for first-time volunteers who yearn to start exploring the causes that are close to their hearts. It is also important that volunteers know how their time and skills can benefit the community they serve.

iVolunteer Philippines created this event with an adventure theme in mind so that visitors can be encouraged to explore new things via the various exhibitors, and discover something new about themselves, too. This all helps in creating an impact on significant causes.

The Go! Volunteer Expo is a venue to share the organization’s programs and their personal journeys. By sharing these stories, they hope to encourage others to take part, too. If you want to make a difference, visit the expo to know how to keep the fire of service burning. Let us become the modern day heroes of today and tomorrow.
