Microtel Boracay: Fuss-Free Hotel At Diniwid Beach

There are many kinds of travelers who come to Boracay: some are seasoned travelers, some are adventurous, and some are happy-go-lucky. What definitely endeared Microtel to us was its location in Diniwid, north of Station 1. Since it is a small beach, it feels much more exclusive with an intimate and chill vibe. Diniwid is also known to have the best sunset view on the island, so this beach is not to be missed when visiting Boracay.

Microtel is close to top tourist destinations in Diniwid Beach like Spider House and Nami Resort. We also enjoyed snorkeling here because the water is a little deeper compared to White Beach. But if you want to go to D’Mall, you can take Microtel’s free shuttle service, which has hourly trips back and forth. Although for us, we preferred the long walks along the coastline going to White Beach. It’s just a 10-minute walk to Station 1, and it’s a good way to squeeze in some workout.

Relaxed beach vibe

The interiors of Microtel are Mediterranean inspired, which we thought was perfect for the relaxed beach vibe. We were welcomed with long shell necklaces and frothy iced tea. There is definitely no lack of hospitality here.

The breakfast is served at the restaurant near the beachfront. The delicious food is prepared by Mama’s Fish House, the restaurant concessionaire of Microtel Boracay. They are also open for meals throughout the day.

We always looked forward to breakfast because we could enjoy the morning breeze and the peaceful beach. We would lounge on the couches at the beachfront and just stare at the clear, blue sea.

Big groups and families will enjoy their stay at Microtel as some rooms have connecting doors. You can request for the door to be unlocked if you wish.

Great for kids

Microtel is truly one hotel that is best for families as it is kid-friendly. Its pool has a lifeguard on duty, which is good news for worried moms, and there is a small playground just a few steps away from the hotel lounge. It was also really thoughtful that the hotel proudly displayed the artworks from their little guests.

Plus, there is a ping-pong table available if you’re up for a game or two with the kids, or even with a new friend.

Enjoy the beach

Staying true to the island life, Microtel helps you ensure that you enjoy the beach and all it has to offer by providing Wi-Fi in the room only upon request. This is so that guests won’t be tempted to sneak in work during downtime and have a true relaxing digital detox. Massage services are even available in-room or at the beachfront to help you relax well.

However, if this doesn’t sound great to you, the hotel lounge has free Wi-Fi and tons of comfy couches so that you can sip your coffee while enjoying the idle afternoons. In-room Wi-Fi has a minimal charge of Php100.
