Movies To Watch In July: Reboots And Dramas Will Keep You Busy These Rainy Days

We are directly halfway through the year. They say though that time really does fly when you’re having fun. Why wouldn’t we when some great movies have kept us entertained throughout the year? July isn’t about to slow down because this month is more packed than ever with great movies to watch with friends and family or bring a date to. Here’s a list of movies to watch in July.

Magellan

Opening Date: July 5
Director: Rob York
Cast: Brandon Ray Olive, K. Danor Gerald, Whitney

Magellan is a movie about a man’s mission into outer space to find revolutionary answers. He is, however, not set to visit just one planet. It is a move about exploring the wide unknown of outer space while leaving a life back home that he might not ever come home to. Being fans of sci-fi action movies, we are highly down for this one.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Opening Date: July 6
Director: John Watts
Cast: Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei

Raise your hands if you’re a big Spider-Man fan! High five because we are too! We do not discount the previous Spider-Man movies but this one seems like it’s finally going to be it. No bias, really, but they finally got the casting on point! Not to mention, Iron Man will be in this movie too. Excited? We’re sure this will be the big number of movies to watch in July!

War For The Planet Of The Apes

Opening Date: July 12

Cast: Judy Greer, Woody Harrelson, Andy Serkis

This is where it happens—the biggest war between apes and people. This action-packed movie is a telling of truth about who rules what. It’s going to be as intense as it is touching.

Beautiful Pain (Redha)

Opening Date: July 19

Cast: Harith Haziq, Izzy Reef, Namron

This award-winning Malaysian film explores the struggles of a family which has been blessed with an autistic child. Although the movie highlights the pain of it all, it also rediscovers the wonder of such a situation. This movie has been highly acclaimed, winning the hearts of people all over the world. This tearjerker of movies to watch in July is based on a true story.

Kita Kita

Opening Date: July 19

Cast: Alessandra de Rossi, Empoy Marquez

A romantic movie about life’s surprises, Kita Kita holds so much potential to tell us of the wonders of falling in love in places and people we do not expect. Set in Japan as its background, this movie might just give us all the feels we need in this rainy season of July.

Valerian

Cast: Cara Delevingne, Ethan Hawk, Dane DeHann

Another movie about saving a planet and the rest of the universe from a dark force, yay! Not knowing what it is, special operatives Valerian and Laureline are set to race and find what this is in order to have a successful mission. This part action, part comedy, and part fantasy film is gonna be one hell of a ride for movies to watch in July.

Cast: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maggie Grace, Scoot McNairy

An unfortunate plane crash occurs due to a man’s recklessness in the airport control tower, which leads to the death of another man’s family. Intertwined with this unfortunate event, their lives completely change from here on out. A story about loss, anger, fear, and despair, this drama film is certainly going to be moving.

Cast: Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Bonnie Hunt

We have seen Lightning McQueen race his way to the top. With newer and younger cars, however, staying at the top has become a feat. We again follow the journey of Lightning McQueen and his fight to stay king of the track in movies to watch in July.

The Beguiled

Cast: Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning

During the Civil War, a wounded soldier lands in an all girl’s school sheltered from the rest of the world. This unlikely situation of having a man in the premises turns the lives of the girls and the soldier around, drizzling them with passion, tension, rivalries, and cruelty. Expecting nothing less of a Sofia Coppola film, The Beguiled may just well be one of the greatest movies of this year.
